LATEST SINGLE ENTERS THE TOP 10 ON BOTH THE MEDIABASE AND BDS CHARTS
ALSO TOURING ON THE CARNIVAL OF MADNESS TOUR THIS SUMMER
(June 21, 2011 – New York, NY) – Building on being the #1 Most Added at rock radio, Alter Bridge’s latest single, “Ghost of Days Gone By” from the band’s critically acclaimed album AB III, continues to storm further up the charts. The single continues to climb the Mediabase Active Rock chart landing in the top 10 at #9 making it the #5 Greatest Gainer at the format. It also remains at #7 on the Mediabase Mainstream Rock chart earning the #1 Greatest Gainer title for the week. At BDS this week, the single moves to #9 on the Active Rock chart and continues to move up the Top 10 at Heritage from #7 to #6 making it the #2 Greatest Gainer there as well. The song is currently #10 on Combined BDS Chart and is the #6 Greatest Gainer for the week. “Ghost of Days Gone By” has found a home on many stations across the country including WMMR (Philadelphia), WRIF (Detroit), KUPD (Seattle) and KXXR (Minneapolis) to name a few. The single is the follow up to “Isolation,” the group’s first career #1 single that topped the Mainstream, Active and Heritage charts for weeks. AB III was self-released on Alter Bridge recordings via EMI Label Services and debuted at #17 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
Alter Bridge will continue to bring ABIII to the masses this summer by teaming up with Theory of a Deadman for this year’s Carnival of Madness tour. Rounding out the tour this year are Black Stone Cherry, Adelita’s Way and Emphatic. Sponsored by Monster Energy Drink, the trek will make its way across North America starting August 13 in Twin Lakes, WI with tickets in the $25 - $35 price range.
The band recently released a webisode giving fans an in depth look at “Ghosts of Days Gone By” from the original creation of the song in the studio to playing the song live for fans on tour. Fans can check out the new webisode by heading here.
Alter Bridge also recently took the victory in Fuse.TV’s The Battle of the Fans: Rock. The website hosted a poll to see which band had the best fans and, in the end, it was the AB Nation that took home the title. The band was up against the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Green Day and Three Days Grace and took on 30 Seconds to Mars and Linkin Park in the finals. With over 7 million votes cast over 4 weeks, Alter Bridge and their fans came out the victor when all was said and done. Alter Bridge has also made appearances recently on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live in support of ABIII. The band also won the the Greatest Guitar Solo of All Time by Guitarist Magazine for the “Blackbird” solo from the previous album of the same name.
